Homebodii Bride of the Month: Darcy Spiller

We knew we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together when our conversations about the future were effortless and we could act like children together.

The styling details that I loved were all done by myself Ryan’s and I and my parents. We didn’t have a planner, only an on day coordinator. I loved that we individually added our own touches throughout. For example, Cafe au lait Dahlias, curated music for the ceremony and a French 75 cocktail (me), green suit, negronis, walk in with parents as only child (Ryan), gold/black theme and Moroccan tent (mum), aristocratic ambience and set up (dad). Ryan and I also had a laid back cuisine. Pasta and Paella with salad sides.

The most unexpected part of the day was.. everyone was on the dance floor all night and the night before the wedding nearly everyone attended pre drinks.

When I look back on the day now I feel….

That I wish I could do it again and relax a little more. Have more moments with friends and family. It goes by so quickly!!!

A word of advice to new brides would be…

A word of advice to new brides would be… Have someone to guide you with booking vendors. It’s easy to choose what you want but when you book them and calculate the set up that’s where you can get stressed. So have a planner even if it’s just half way through. Make a list of who and what and leave it to them. I was lucky that Brolga Hill Estate was my home and that my mother was a wedding planner once. Also please make sure you slow down on the day and sit aside and watch everyone!

My Homebodii moment was special because..

They went all out to make sure I had my Gaylene Robe!! I was so impressed and stunned. Beautiful quality and a terrific team.
