Homebodii Bride of the Month: Georgia Hayes

A little bit about me…

My name is Georgia Hayes, and I recently got married at Redleaf in Wollombi to my dream person, Max Hayes. We have been together for almost 6 years, and we spent the last 18 months planning our Wedding. Aside from wedding planning feeling like a full-time job, I actually work full-time as a Paramedic in Victoria. My go-to weekend is having an Aperol Spritz with my girlfriends at a local wine bar, followed by board games at home. I also absolutely love sharing my life on social media and expressing myself through fashion, which gives me confidence.

Our approach to planning…

Our approach to planning the wedding was to try not to sweat the small stuff and to enjoy the extended engagement period. I know personally how short life can be through working with life and death daily. That being said, I really tried to enjoy the planning process and have perspective when things got stressful.

Looking back on the day, we are so glad that we got married at Redleaf in Wollombi. We were able to create a full week of fun events for both our families and friends to enjoy. It also meant that we were able to connect with your guests on a deeper level through our welcome drinks, rehearsal dinner, wedding and recovery afternoon.

The most unexpected part of the day was…

The most unexpected part of the day was that I felt so calm and relaxed. I had anticipated that I would feel overwhelmed or overstimulated, but instead, I felt so zen. I had an amazing wedding planner, Chloe, who made sure I could enjoy the day as much as a guest would.

When I look back on the day now I feel…

When I look back on the day now, I feel so grateful and pleased at how everything played out. I really loved that we were able to capture every moment with a photo or video, because it’s true when people say “The day goes so far, take it every moment”. I have absolutely loved reflecting and reliving every moment, it feels as if I am watching a romantic comedy. We thank our content creator Aniella Batten, photographer Bianca Virtue and our Videographer Sommar Films.

A word of advice to new brides would be...

A word of advice to new brides would be to surround yourself with a team you trust and be open to accepting help. On my wedding morning and throughout the day, I felt completely calm and in control, and that’s all thanks to the incredible vendors who supported us. I had full confidence in each one, which allowed me to relax and fully embrace every emotion and moment without worrying about the details like music, photos, how I’d look, timelines, or whether our guests were enjoying themselves.

We got married in the Hunter Valley, and although I’m from Melbourne, I did extensive research on local vendors, ultimately finding the perfect team. My florist, Gabby, made what seemed impossible possible, securing almost every deep red rose for our wedding despite it being Valentine’s Weekend. I trusted Caragh and Dani to create the perfect look for me, and they made me feel absolutely beautiful with an effortless French twist and bronzed glam. Lastly, if you truly want to relax and soak in every moment of your day, investing in a Wedding Planner and Stylist is absolutely worth every cent.

My Homebodii moment was special because I wore…

My Homebodii moment was special because I felt confident and comfortable to enjoy champagne and dance around the living room, moments before I was dressed in my custom Kyha Studios gown. I chose to showcase the bold and beautiful Emilie Pyjama Set. I loved the statement feather details, the mother-of-pearl buttons and of course, the detachable sash. My lucky bridesmaids were also dressed in Homebodii, in the Grace Lounge Pyjama Set. They felt so special, and they absolutely loved the personalised embroidery. I believe the sets we chose complement each other perfectly.
