Homebodii Bride of the Month: Simone Parrelli

A little about me...

Hey everyone, my name is Simone Parrelli -ahh, it takes a minute to get used to the new last name (formally known as Simone Grasso). I am 27 years old and born and bred in Sydney, Australia, with a background from Sicily. I am a marketing girlie and currently work full-time at Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, whilst juggling modelling and Instagram on the side. On the weekend you’ll find me either at the gym, going for matcha dates with the girls or at the beach with my gorgeous little Pomeranian and husband.

Our approach to planning the wedding was...

Divide and conquer! My persona is very creative yet organised whereas, Nick, my husband is very methodical and realistic – he definitely came in handy for the budgeting aspect haha. Any parts of the wedding that involved styling or bringing to life finer details was my area of focus and Nick was fantastic in organising the elements that required logistics e.g. transportation, run-sheets and the seating chart. We complimented each other very well throughout the whole wedding planning experience.

Looking back on the day we are so glad that we...

Wrote personalised messages for each and every guest. This was an idea that we always wanted to do and originally the thought of writing 160 personalised messages seemed overwhelming with all the wedding planning tasks we had to do. However, when seeing the reactions from our guests, the tears, the smiles, the laughter – it made all the hours well and truly worth it. This was a small gesture that had a large impact on making our guests feel welcome and special – a memorable way to start the evening's celebrations

The most unexpected part of the day was...

The most unexpected part of the day (for the guests at least) was my father-daughter dance. Dad and I started off with a slow dance to have that special memory but decided to remix our song into “Daddy Cool” and you bet we brought a flash mob onto the dance floor. This was a surprising yet light-hearted moment that allowed Dad to have his time to flex those “dad dance moves” we all know and love.

When I look back on the day now I feel...

All sorts of emotions wow – joy, contentment, grateful, sad (that it’s over and I can’t do it all again), relieved and full of love!!

A word of advice to new brides would be...

Find and lean on your support system – for me, this was my mum and my sister (matron of honour). In all honesty, as beautiful and exciting as wedding planning can be, it can also be stressful and overwhelming. I was incredibly lucky to have my mum and matron of honour throughout this time. They helped me stay grounded and realistic throughout the period but also assisted in organising many details that I simply did not have the time to do when balancing full time work, a social life, mental and physical activity etc. Finding your support system that genuinely want the best for you and want to help you is incredibly important through the wedding planning experience.

My Homebodii moment was special and I wore...

The girls and I felt so special and girly in our matching satin pyjamas and slips. I wanted my girls to feel pampered and relaxed the morning of, so of course providing them with Homebodii pieces to wear was a big must for me! My bridesmaids wore the White Toni Lounge Set with pink embroidery (to match their bridesmaids dresses) and I wore the White Sian Slip and matching Sian Robe. Homebodii personalised my wedding date on the robe which I thought was a beautiful touch.
